Road and air transportation are the two major modes of transportation in Skardu. Skardu is linked to Kargil through the Kargil-Skardu road. There are one or two flights daily between Skardu Airport and Islamabad. During winter, air travel may be disrupted because of Skardu’s unpredictable weather.
